Three Blazer field hockey players have accepted an offer from USA Athletes International to play inScotlandthis summer.  Senior defender Amanda Blakeslee, junior midfielder Miriah Stone and sophomore midfield defender Nicole Killmer have plans to travel toScotlandJune 1 through 10 to play for the USA College team.

While travelling to Scottish cities like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling, they will participate in four scheduled field hockey games.

“Playing field hockey will be the highlight of my trip, but I also have family from the area which will make this so interesting to me,” said Blakeslee.  Blakeslee ended her Hood career with one assist and four defensive saves. Blakeslee played 59 games in the number 20 jersey.  She hopes to add depth to the defense on theUSAteam.

Killmer will also support the USA defense ending her second season of Blazer field hockey with one goal, two assists and two defensive saves.  Killmer was an offensive threat on the Blazer corners and played a strong defensive role.  Her flexibility of play will be an asset to the team.

Stone also offers a similar flexibility. Preferring to play a more offensive midfield position, she acted as an insert on offensive corners and as a fly on defensive corner.  She ended the season with one goal, three assists and one defensive save.

“I am so excited for this opportunity to play in another country,” says Stone, “This will be great experience for next year’s season.”
