Junior Amy Hagerdon plays volleyball as an outside hitter for the Blazers this season.

Hagerdon also participates in Spring sports as a center fielder for softball.

“My favorite part of playing both sports is the feeling you get from the deep concentration of every moment in volleyball and mainly hitting in softball. Nothing else matters in the world, not friends, boyfriends, or school but that one play or that one pitch. Life stands still as the game continues,” Hagerdon said.

Hagerdon started playing tee-ball when she was seven and participated in her first volleyball tournament at the age of 11.

“As a team, we have a lot of potential and we just need to continue to improve and play as a cohesive unit for the rest of the season,” Hagerdon said about the volleyball season.

Hagerdon majors in Biology.  She involves herself in campus organizations such as CAB and SPURS.

“Playing a collegiate sport is a big time commitment and you have to realize that you come to college for school and not just sports,” Hagerdon said.

Women’s Volleyball has its next home game Oct.3rd at 7P.M.
