Local Author and Hood Aulmnus to Present at ADEC 2016

Former Alum, Heather Stang ‘ 10, will present for the third year in a row at the Association of Death Education and Counseling Annual Conference, in Minneapolis, MN.

Stang will discuss her book, “Mindfulness & Grief: Coping Skills for Life after Loss.” In a press release, the book explores the mindfulness-based techniques to develop and improve coping skills throughout the grief process. In 2015, she presented Mindfulness and Grief: Techniques For Posttraumatic Growth, which can be purchased directly from ADEC.

Heather Stang is a thanatologist, a mindfulness speaker, and author of the grief book Mindfulness and Grief: With Guided Meditations To Calm Your Mind & Restore Your Spirit. Stang is also the founder of The Frederick Meditation Center, where she is a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and mindfulness meditation instructor.

Stang also contributes to Techniques of Grief Therapy: Assessment and Intervention as an author as well.
