The time of the year has come again: the U.S. News and World Report Higher Education rankings have been released. Hood scored a 38 out of 195 schools in the North of the U.S.
Further, Hood scored 13th place as one of the best value schools in the North East region of the U.S., meaning that students get good value for great programs.
Additionally, Hood earned their place as the 21st best college for veterans. The list includes
colleges that participate in federal initiatives helping veterans and active-duty service members pay for their degrees.
“The Carnegie classification, which higher education researchers use extensively, has been the basis of the Best Colleges ranking category system since our first rankings were published in 1983. The U.S. Department of Education and many higher education associations use the system to organize their data and determine colleges’ eligibility for grant money,” they said on their website.
“It is exciting to again be recognized as a Best Value college. We continually strive to make Hood affordable while also ensuring an excellent education for our students,” Hood President Andrea Chapdelaine said on Hood’s website.
While this might not lend much insight into the future of Hood College, it is definitely an encouraging sign that we are blazing down the right track.
