The Great Frederick Fair has something for everyone.

This year the fair took over the city of Frederick from September 16 through the 24. On Wednesday, September 21 Hood students could take a trip to the fair, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board

Between the deep fried food and the adorable ducklings, the fair brings people together. The farmers prepare their animals for months before the fair. The community of Frederick come to the fairgrounds once a year to enjoy time at the fair.

The animals shown and auctioned included cows, pigs, sheep, horses, goats, rabbits, chickens, and baby ducks who got to ride down a water slide. The animals that won awards had ribbons on their stalls and cages.

Food at the Great Frederick Fair is plentiful from ice cream, to pizza, to donut burgers, the fair had it all. The smell of the batter from all of the deep fried delights was intoxicating and it takes a lot of will power to not get one of those treats for yourself.

The fair featured a variety of rides. Kids flocked to the many rides in the front corner of the fairgrounds. There were also concerts and car shows nightly as yet another form of entertainment at the fair.
