Laboratory supervisor for the biology department Hans Wagner died on March 6 from a heart attack.

Wagner had been with the Hood community for almost 20 years.

“We will miss his wry sense of humor and steadfast commitment to his work,” President Andrea Chapdelaine said.

Staff and students are mourning the loss of Wagner as he had a significant influence on the biology department.

“He was the glue that held the biology department together,” junior Cailyn Barthlow said. “He worked so hard in providing us with the best laboratory experiences.”

The biology department also posted a statement to their Instagram, “We will miss Hans more than words can describe and wish him the sweetest peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
