Swimmers compete in Middle Atlantic Conference Championships

Over the weekend the Men’s and Women’s Swim teams traveled to York College to compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.

The men’s team placed 6th place overall, meanwhile the women’s team finished in 5th place.

Cameron Rogers and Chris Gardner won conference titles in their perspective events. Rogers won the 1650 freestyle, and also had a NCAA B qualifying time. Gardner won the 200 backstroke, both Rogers and Gardner set new school records. The men’s team ended out the tournament with 30 total All-MAC honors. Chris Gardner led the men’s swim team with seven all-conference awards. Gardner finished the tournament with two new school records, and BJ Daisey broke one record also.

The women’s team ended the season with 22 total All-MAC honors. The Lady Blazers were led by Lauren Fogarty, Ashley Griffin, and Brianna Hand-Solomon each having five all-conference awards. Shannon McHale was the closest Lady Blazer who missed reaching a podium spot by one position. McHale finished in 4th place in the 100 backstroke.
