Nature-themed wellness webinar to take place later this month

By Junior Iwebo

A new nature-themed wellness session will be available for all students in a live Zoom webinar at noon on Thursday, Feb. 29..

“The Connection Between Nature & Mental Health”  will offer tips on how nature-based activities can help mental health. It will be led by speaker Gina Strass from the Center of Nature Informed Therapy, a Towson organization that specializes in using natural settings, outdoor activities and retreats to foster mental health.

The webinar will take place before the midterm exams and  serve as a potential outlet for stress-management ideas. The webinar will include a Q&A so students can ask for advice on reducing stress.

Dean of the Graduate School April Boulton said the webinar should be of interest to those not only those looking for ideas to improve their mental health, but of students in fields of counseling and environmental studies.
