Andrea Chapdelaine announced her resignation as Hood College’s 11th president in an email sent to the Hood community this morning.

Her resignation will go into effect at the end of her current contract on June 30. She will begin her tenure as Connecticut College’s 12th president on July 1.

Chapdelaine has been with Hood for nine years, and during that time, the college has experienced many milestones, such as the completion of the Forging the Future fundraising campaign, growth in undergraduate and graduate enrollment and the completion of the Moving Together Beyond Boundaries strategic plan.

Board Trustees Chair Tonya Thomas Finton said in email that more information will be released in the coming weeks about the plan to finding a new president.
