Equestrian team member wins first place at show

Hood College Equestrian Team Wins

A member of the Hood College equestrian team won first place at the American University show at Spring Hills Stables on Oct. 15.

The team competed against American University, Towson University, George Mason University, Goucher College, and George Washington University.

Freshman Amanda Bruner won the intermediate over fences competition. Bruner also placed fifth in the intermediate flat contest.

Freshman Drew Keiser won fourth place in the open over fences competition. In the open flat contest, Keiser also won fifth place.

Freshman Alexandra Mann won fifth place in the limit flat contest. Mann also rode in the limit over fences competition.

Abigail Burns, a sophomore, won third place in the introductory flat contest.

Alexa Grey, senior, won sixth place in the novice flat competition.

This was the second show of the year, the first show was hosted by George Mason University at South Run Riding school. The third event was Oct. 22 at Goucher College. While first place might not have been achieved that time, all competing team members performed well.

The Hood College equestrian team’s next competition will be Nov. 5, at Spring Hills Stables, hosted by American University.
